A special Thanksgiving celebration.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving like I had. It's a bit unusual because I normally spend Thanksgiving with my family. This year, I decided to attend a potluck dinner thrown by a good buddy of mine. Why a potluck dinner for Thanksgiving? Well, for years - my buddy's parents would throw us a party for Thanksgiving. Many of the guys I know either don't have families close by or don't have families at all whom they can go to for Thanksgiving. My buddy's parents always came through. They would gather us all and give us the venue to celebrate the holiday without our families.

My buddy's father recently became ill while they were preparing for this year's Thanksgiving party. When he was at the hospital, my buddy's mom told him that since he is ill, they should cancel this year's Thanksgiving celebration to give him enough time to rest. He said, "Definitely not! I will walk out of this hospital and we will have the party." He died a few days later.

In his memory, all of my friends who have had the pleasure of partaking holiday meals at their home decided to make this a potluck dinner. We still wanted to get together and we wanted to show them our gratitude for all those years they've hosted for us. It was a wonderful celebration and none of my friends even thought twice about it. We shared the meals everyone brought (more than plenty!) and laughed like we normally would. It was special. I'm sure he's up there smiling because that was what he wanted.

Cheers and have a great week!

The better to see you my dear...

Holiday Glass Frames From Zenni Optical cannot be compared with any offers out there for designer eye wear. They have the best price in eye wear if you ask me. Who among the merchants out there could offer $ 8 Complete Rx Eyeglasses? Do you know of any?

The popular online eyeglasses shop
has been making news all over because of their very competitive prices in eye wear. They were even featured on Fox News just because they are the cheapest merchant you can find with reference to eye wear. Stop and think before you buy your new pair or eyeglasses. It can save you more money where you can use for other holiday shopping needs. Just think about it. There's nothing to lose.

Now - Here's a cookbook that would make you wonder...

Semen is not only nutritious, but it also has a wonderful texture and amazing cooking properties. Like fine wine and cheeses, the taste of semen is complex and dynamic. Semen is inexpensive to produce and is commonly available in many, if not most, homes and restaurants. Despite all of these positive qualities, semen remains neglected as a food. This book hopes to change that. Once you overcome any initial hesitation, you will be surprised to learn how wonderful semen is in the kitchen. Semen is an exciting ingredient that can give every dish you make an interesting twist. If you are a passionate cook and are not afraid to experiment with new ingredients - you will love this cook book!

Is this book for real? I, for one wouldn't be fighting the holiday shopping to grab one of these books. But the cookbook is real - - you can actually get your copy here.

Is there such a thing as harmless flirting?

I love to flirt. I was probably flirting the moment I was born. Is it bad? I don't know. I enjoy the attention and I enjoy the dance that goes into it. It's like a ritual - who's going to give in first? I never had the freedom to flirt with guys. I always had to hide my feelings because I wasn't out. It took me years to accept who I am and before I knew it, many years have gone by.

Even today, I am still afraid to admit that I'm gay at my workplace. I know that they know it but they are afraid to confront me. Or maybe I give out the signal that, "It's none of their business!"

I would like to be free though. Who cares right? What if I like guys? Is that so much of a big deal nowadays? Not really. I have many straight friends who is fine with it as much as the next guy. I really think I should be able to flirt if I want to.. but when is it safe to flirt? I never flirt at work - - that's a big NO NO. But I do flirt everywhere else. The problem here would be - -when people flirt back.. What do you do with it?

I've been hanging out at Facebook all week!

I couldn't help it. I'm on Facebook first thing in the morning and still on Facebook at the end of the evening. I update my status almost every four hours and I really find it fun! I've met all kinds of individuals that I wouldn't have met otherwise, and re-connected with long-lost friends I never thought I would ever talk to again! It's amazing. Are you on Facebook?! Every one and their brother are on it! I was surprised to find high school classmates there as well.

What gets me are those people with thousands and thousands of friends? Do they really know those people? Come on! It's addictive so be careful. Once you join, you will be hooked. There are lots of applications there such as giving out drinks, playing poker, building a farm and many other games you can get busy with. Just hope that it doesn't get so popular that it would be banned in your workplace. It has definitely decreased the amount of productivity for workers. No wonder it was banned in other countries. Take a peek.. you might like it! ;)

I wanna be a housewife... great song...

Most of my readers are probably as disappointed as most of my buds who are in relationships and hoping to get married in California. The passing of Prop. 8 is sad. It's two steps back from where we are. We get our jubilation the night before by electing the first black president, and then shoved in our faces is the passing of Prop 8. I am with my buddies who are in committed relationships who dream of getting married. I, for one am not expecting to get married. I don't equate marriage with my being with someone who truly cares for me. Some do and I don't have a problem with it. I will only fight for as far as having the same rights as straight couples. A civil union will do it for me. Then again, I have seen a lot of good couples out there who deserve to get married and should be allowed to if they want. Listen to the song.... I think it's cool.

Poker this weekend? Anyone?

I haven't played poker in a while. The last time I played poker was probably three weeks ago and I had a blast. My buddies and I gather on weekends - no ladies, just us guys and play poker. This is a game I never thought I would learn. When I was taught how to play Texas Hold'em, I couldn't stay away from it anymore. I mean, we simply play for fun. We're not professional poker players but it's really a stress-relieving activity for us.

Since the poker game is usually held at my house, I was thinking of getting looking around at Poker Tables. I can order it online - and probably get the best deal if I could buy in bulk if my buddies would go in with me. We go around each house every weekend anyway so I'm sure that if we all buy at the same time, we could get the discount that we need. I may just go out on a limb and get poker chips (in clay) as well. There's nothing like the real thing baby.

President-Elect, Barack Obama

When the Presidential race started over a year ago, I was rooting for one candidate whom I believed would have been able to carry us through. That was Hillary Clinton. She is experienced, well-educated, has had a lot of dealings with foreign policy and able to run a country and probably turn it around from where it is today. When she lost, I was devastated. I had to focus then on the remaining candidates whom I didn't really favor that much.

That was until we were left with Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. John McCain. I needed to listen carefully to what they both had to say. As time grew, I learned a lot more about Barack Obama and his stand on a lot of issues. I saw him as a well-spoken, highly-educated individual who didn't fold when confronted by an experienced veteran such as John McCain. He stood his ground and let the people decide. I started to like him. By mid-September, I already knew who I was going to vote for. It is Barack Obama. And I did vote for him.

The change we are about to face may come in painful strides. It may even get worse before it gets better. The reason why I voted for him was because I believe he is able to inspire all of us. He has energized this country like no other.

When he won last night and I watched him speak - I was almost in tears. I can say that I'm glad I voted for him. And folks, this is the very first time I have ever voted. I'm darn proud of it.

I'm back folks! I was away for a bit.. taking care of stuff.

The good news is, I'm doing very well. I have started taking vitamins and it seems to work for me. I am back in the gym - full force... the bad news is, I had to be away for a while to attend a buddy's dad's funeral. Don't mean to bring you down - it's just a fact of life. Yes, it's sad but I think it's for the best. My buddy's dad has suffered enough and due to heart-related illnesses and other complications, he went into coma last Tuesday and had no way of recovery. It's a tough decision but his will stated that he wanted them to let him go if that happens. And they did.

He lived a good life. He is in a better place now and may his soul rest in peace.

Life happens - just make sure you are prepared and your financial standing is good so that your loved ones left behind won't have to suffer. He did all of that - which makes his passing a less stressful one.
